I had thousands of hot rolled bars that needed descaling, I had a ball mill, which is a heavy duty tumbler. we would load about 800 pounds of bars in, dump in a bag of black beauty sand blast sand and a quart of motor oil, turn it on and leave the building, it was noisy! 2 hours later they came out nice and descaled and the edges were peened over.
